Itinerary

Day 1 : Vancouver - Hope - Kamloops - Glacier National Park - Golden

Starting our trip from Vancouver, we make our way east towards Kamloops, passing through the town of Hope. Located at the confluence of the Coquihalla and Fraser rivers, Hope is known for its heritage as being a hub of early gold rush pioneers. From Hope we then travel to Kamloops, a town famous for its production of ginseng, and its burgeoning tourism industry—particularly for mountain bikers. After lunch in Kamloops we drive on to the site of “The Last Spike” of the Canadian Pacific Railway. This famous spike is the last railway tie that completed the CPR, effectively joining the eastern side of the country with the western. Our next stop is the Three Valley Lake area. This stunning region is nestled between lakes and sheer cliffs, drawing in many campers looking to experience the beauty of nature. Our last attraction of the day will be “Roger’s Pass”—a pass through the mountains of the Glacier National Park region before spending the night at Golden, BC.

Standard Hotel (2 star to 3 star): Ponderosa Inn Golden or similar

Day 2 : Natural Bridge - Moraine Lake - Lake Louise - Bow Falls

The next day of our trip takes us into Canada’s iconic Rockies. First we start our day with a visit to the “Natural Bridge” of Yoho National Park. A natural bridge formed from massive boulders spanning the river, what has emerged from the bridge today is a confluence of waterfalls, beautiful pools of deep water and rainbow mist. From here we next visit Lake Louise in Banff. Lake Louise has long been the symbol of Canada’s Rocky Mountains—an alpine lake of stunning blue water in a valley of soaring mountains. The resort community that has sprouted up on the shores of the lake offers world class hotels, dining options and more. Relax by riding the cable car to the overlook of the lake. From the beautiful shores of Lake Louise we next take you to Moraine Lake. If the lake appears familiar to you, odds are you have seen pictures of it before. Lake Moraine was once prominently figured on the back of the Canadian 20 dollar bill. Since then images of the lake have been used by many tech companies as stock desktop images and more. As one of the most beautiful natural sanctuaries left in the world, you’ll fall in love with the stunning landscape. After spending some time at Lake Moraine, we travel to Bow Falls before end of the day.

Standard Hotel (2 star to 3 star): The Wind Tower Lodge and Suite or similar

Day 3 : Peyto Lake - Columbia Ice Field - Glacier Skywalk - Mount Robson - Sun Peaks

First we travel on to Peyto Lake in Banff National Park. You’ll be in awe of the almost surreal blue of the lake, making it look almost like a painting. Though these sites are amazing, you’ll definitely want to write home about our next event. We take you next to the Columbia Icefield where we will explore the million-year old ice fields by snow coach. The largest icefield in North America, this ancient place is a remnant of the ice that once covered most of Western Canada’s mountains. While at the icefields we’ll also be taking you up onto the Glacier Skywalk, a glass walkway soaring high over the valley below. The walkway affords views of birds beneath and mountains above, and a renewed sense of how small we are in the grand scheme of things. After a brief visit of Mount Robson, the highest peak of Rockies, we back west to Sun Peaks, famous for its international mountain bike races.

Standard Hotel (2 star to 3 star): Coast Sundance Lodge or similar

Day 4 : Sun Peaks - Vancouver

In the morning we leave Sun Peaks and make our way toward the Lulu Island Winery—a winery known and respected for its famous Canadian ice wine. Be sure to bring some home as a souvenir. From here we work our way back to Vancouver, the city of glass, where we will have lunch together one last time. We hope you enjoyed your Canadian adventure.
