Day 3 : Los Angeles - Santa Barbara - Solvang - Silicon Valley - Bay Area OR Los Angeles - Santa Barbara - 17 Mile Drive - Bay Area

In the next three days, depending on your interest you can choose SFO-A or SFO-B itinerary:

San Francisco A Route: Los Angeles - Santa Barbara - Solvang - Silicon Valley - Bay Area
Our first stop of the day is Santa Barbara, California. Just 90 miles north of Los Angeles, this town is known as the “American Riviera” because of its natural beauty, beaches, and gourmet cuisine. As a getaway for Southern Californians for decades, Santa Barbara tempts visitors with its Spanish Colonial architecture and reputation for being a pedestrian-friendly town with something for everyone. Whether you love the outdoors, the arts, or shopping and fine dining, Santa Barbara has it all. From the casual elegance of Santa Barbara, we travel along the Pacific Coast Highway north to Solvang. You won’t believe you’re in American when you arrive in this town. Known by the Dutch immigrants as the “sunny field,” this little town is populated with windmills and European-styled buildings that give the town a distinctly old-world feel. In fact, thanks to the town’s cafes that serve European coffee and Danish pastries, you’d swear that you were in a different country. Afterwards we pass the Mecca of the digital world - Silicon Valley, the home of thousands of tech startups and the world’s tech giants. In the evening we will arrive in Bay Area hotel.

San Francisco B Route: Los Angeles - Santa Barbara - 17 Mile Drive - Bay Area
From Los Angeles our first stop is in Santa Barbara - the “American Riviera.” Just 90 miles north of Los Angeles, this town has tempted southern Californians for decades. Santa Barbara is known for its natural beauty, stunning beaches, vineyards and its fine dining. This town has thrived on its reputation for being a haven for the young, intelligent and hip of America, drawing in visitors to this city of Spanish Colonial architecture. Whether it’s the beaches that inspire surfers and sunbathers, the marine wildlife, or the succulent dining, Santa Barbara is a city of charm for everyone. Next we travel to the Monterey Peninsula and take in the scenery of the California coast. Along the shores you may see some of the local marine life - sea lions, and seals sunning themselves on the rocks. From here we begin the famous 17 mile drive along the coastline. This drive is known for passing through the world class golf courses of Pebble Beach and the multi-million dollar mansions overlooking the gorgeous coastline. After a visit to the iconic Lone Pine in the 17 mile drive, we continue to our hotel in Bay Area.

Standard Hotel (2 star to 3 star): Red Lion Oakland, Holiday Inn San Jose, Crowne Plaza Union City, Courtyard Fremont or similar

Day 4 : Berkeley University - San Francisco City Tour w/ Cable Car OR Stanford University - San Francisco City Tour

San Francisco A Route: Berkeley University - San Francisco City Tour
In the morning we visit Berkeley University, one of the world’s leading research institutions and one of the top public universities in the nation. This university has benefited greatly from its close relationship to Silicon Valley in recent years and has come a long way from its humble beginnings. Now thousands of the nation’s brightest minds call this school home. From Berkeley we make our way to the Golden Gate city of San Francisco by crossing the iconic Golden Gate Bridge. During our time here we explore the city by ride the iconic San Francisco cable cars going up and down the hills, markets of Fisherman’s Wharf, the arts of the Palace of Fine Arts, the zigzags of Lombard Street and more. While in the city you have the option of taking a bay cruise and sail the local waters, getting an up close look at the Golden Gate Bridge, Bay Bridge and the infamous Alcatraz Island and the other islands of the bay. From the ocean, you’ll be enchanted by the splendid city skyline. In the afternoon you are welcome to spend your free time at your own discretion or join us on a three-hour tour of the city. This tour gives you a chance to further explore the city, the catholic cathedral of San Francisco, the Twin Peaks, the Civic Center and finally the flamboyant Castro District. Our tour for the day concludes with a visit to the city hall of San Francisco and dinner.

San Francisco B Route: Stanford University - San Francisco City Tour
In the morning we visit Stanford University, one of the world’s leading research institutions and one of the top universities in the country. Built in the 19th century by a railroad tycoon, the normally quiet campus has built a sterling reputation for being a university that recruits the best and brightest minds. From Stanford we begin our tour of San Francisco by crossing the span of the Golden Gate Bridge. Explore the markets of Fisherman’s Wharf, and marvel at the architectures of the Palace of Fine Arts. While in the city you’ll have the option to take a bay cruise and get a unique look at the beautiful skyline of the city, the Golden Gate and Bay Bridge, Angel, Treasure and the infamous Alcatraz Island. Before returning to Los Angeles, we first head to the town of Felton California, an accurate replica of a logging town of the 1800’s. Nestled in the Santa Cruz Mountains, the Roaring Camp logging town even features a steam-powered railroad train that takes visitors into the redwood forests. Situated on the California coast and close the city of Monterey, Carmel and Pacific Grove, this region is most well-known for its seaside vistas, beautiful rocky shores and charming seaside villages. This scenic road through Pebble Beach and Pacific Grove on the peninsula highlights some of the area’s world class golf courses, million dollar mansions, and beautiful look out points. Arrive Los Angeles in the early evening.

San Francisco B Route: Yosemite National Park - Los Angeles
From the city’s marvels we travel out to the natural beauty of Yosemite National Park, California’s most well-known national park. Yosemite is a towering force of water and granite, known for its mighty waterfalls, ancient trees, and huge cliffs. The bio- and geodiversified Yosemite is a region of deep valleys, grand meadows, ancient trees and its sheer granite mountains and glaciers. You’ll be in awe of the giant sequoias covering the 1700 square miles of the park. The pristine quality of the park is what draws visitors every year, but what makes these visitors stay are the natural landmarks like El Captain, the tallest waterfall in America - Yosemite Falls, the Half Dome at the Tunnel viewpoint and Glacier Point. After our tour of the park, we travel back to Los Angeles, arriving in the city by evening.
