Day 1 : Hometown - Chicago

We provide free pick-up service between 9:00 am and 9:00 pm at Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD). Our tour guide will meet you at the baggage claim area. If you will arrive at Midway International Airport (MDW), you have to manage to arrive at the hotel by yourself. We offer optional night tour as long as you can arrive at the hotel by 5:00 pm.

Day 2 : Chicago - Springfield - St. Louis

Depart from Chicago in the morning and head to Springfield, hometown of Abraham Lincoln, one of the most beloved presidents in the United States. We will visit his former residence where Lincoln used to live for 17 years. Right behind his residence, it’s the State Capitol of Illinois, the tallest non-skyscraper capitol in the United States, even higher than the one in Washington D.C. Depart for St. Louis in the afternoon. St. Louis is the largest metropolitan area in Missouri and is right at the geographic center of continental U.S. It used to be the busiest railroad center and also the beginning point for the famous Western Expansion. The Gateway Arch, erected here to commemorate the men who made the expansion possible, is the world's tallest man-made monument and forms a triumphant city skyline. We will also visit the St. Louis Cathedral. The ceiling of the church is covered by 41.5 million pieces of mosaic glass in more than 7000 colors. It is still the world's largest mosaic collection nowadays. We will head to hotel around dusk.

Day 3 : St. Louis - Meramec Caverns - Chicago

Leave for Meramec Caverns in the morning. 4.6 miles long, the Meramec caverns were formed from the erosion of large limestone deposits over millions of years. It is the most visited cave in Missouri for the breathtaking view and history. In centuries past, Native Americans used the cavern system for shelter. In the Civil War era, the Union Army used it as saltpeter plant to manufacture gunpowder. Then the caverns were taken over by the confederate guerrillas, including the future infamous outlaw Jesse James. According to local legend, James and his brother and partner in crime Frank used the caves as a hideout in the 1870s. We will explore the cave with a local guide and then take a cruise alongside the Meramec River to enjoy the beautiful scenes and learn about the history and fun facts of the region. We will head back to Chicago in the afternoon.

Day 4 : Greater Chicago Sightseeing Tour

There is a lot to see in Greater Chicago area. Our tour will start with the biggest industrial city of Wisconsin ----- Milwaukee, birthplace of Haley-Davidson motorcycles. Visit Haley-Davidson Museum and check out the history of the legendary motorcycle brand from the collection of 450 motorcycles and artifacts including the oldest known Haley-Davidson motorcycle. Visit the beautiful campus of the Northwestern University. It is one of the best universities in the States with more than 150 years of history, ranking the 14th in America and 30th in the world. We will then visit the Bahá'í House of Worship in Wilmette, Illinois. It is the oldest surviving Bahá'í House of Worship in the world, and the only one in the United States. Three core principles establish a basis for Bahá'í teachings and doctrine: the unity of God, the unity of religion, and the unity of humanity. We will also see The Harris Bradley Center, home court of NBA home team Milwaukee Bucks and the St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

Day 5 : Chicago City Sightseeing Tour

This tour will show you the best of Chicago. You can see the United Center, home to the Chicago Bulls, where you can feel the glory of this star NBA team and see the statue of Michael Jordan. Visit the Buckingham Fountain, one of the world's largest man made fountains. Take a walk in the Millennium Park, one of the best public spaces that you can find on earth. Go through Cloud Gate, the signature urban sculpture of Chicago. Take a break at the Navy Pier, former Navy training center, and now the most visited lakeshore park in Central United States. Visit Shedd Aquarium, the largest indoor aquarium in the world. Take a tour of the Chicago Theatre, the birthplace of Broadway musicals. Appreciate art works in the Art Institute of Chicago whose collection attracts 2 million visitors every year. Indulge yourself in the shopping heaven, the Magnificent Mile. Day 6 : Chicago - Detroit - Frankenmuth

Today our tour will start with Detroit, the capital of automobiles in the morning. We will stop at the headquarters of the General Motors Company. We will then visit Henry Ford Museum, named after the founder of the Ford Motor Company which is the the US 's second-largest carmaker. It is said that where there is a car, there is a Ford. The exhibitions not only portray the history of Ford but also the Industrial Revolution. The collection contains many rare exhibits including John F. Kennedy's presidential limousine, Abraham Lincoln's chair from Ford's Theatre, Thomas Edison's laboratory, the Wright Brothers' bicycle shop, and the Rosa Parks bus. We will then head to Frankenmuth, a German town in central America, to feel an entirely different culture. We will dine at a well-known local restaurant and brewery. Enjoy the world famous German sausage with authentic German beers. We will return to the hotel after this great dinner.

Day 7 : Frankenmuth - Mackinac Island

Our morning schedule includes a north bound drive to the lakeside city, Mackinaw. This city is famous for the magnificent scenic view. We will take the ferry boat to get to Mackinac Island. Almost all motor vehicles are banned on the island and is pollution free. The whole island is well preserved to remain the urban style of the 19th century. We will bypass a five mile long suspension bridge connecting the upper and the lower half of Michigan peninsula. We will also visit the Grand Hotel. Built in 1887, it’s famous as the filming site for the 1980 film Somewhere in Time starring Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour. Feel free to take a coffee in its porch (longest in the world), just as those notable visitors of the hotel, including five U.S. presidents, Russian prime minister Vladimir Putin, Russian president Dmitri Medvedev, inventor Thomas Edison, and author Mark Twain.

Day 8 : Holland - Amish Farm - Chicago

We will first visit Holland in the morning. Holland was founded by Dutch Americans, and is in an area that has a large percentage of citizens of Dutch American heritage. We will visit Windmill Island Gardens, an oasis at the edge of downtown Holland. It features a 250 year old working Dutch windmill "De Zwaan" (meaning graceful bird), surrounded by manicured gardens, dikes, canals and picnic areas. We will then visit an Amish community. The Amish are known for simple living, plain dress, and reluctance to adopt many conveniences of modern technology.With the sounds of passing carriages and people walking in ancient clothes, you will be brought back to the 18th century. Feel free pick one or two handcrafts, breathe in the exotic air preserved since the farming era and take a Amish style lunch. This visit will make you re-think about life. Our tours will return to Chicago in the afternoon.

  1. We offer complimentary pick up service for Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD). Free pick up service is only available between 9 am to 9 pm. Any other time would incur $120 for 1st and 2nd passengers, $10 for each additional person. Please note there is no pick up service from Midway International Airport (MDW).
  2. If you take the domestic flight, our tour guide will wait for you at the luggage claim area. If you take the international flight, our tour guide will wait for you on the curb out of the terminal.
  3. Optional Chicago night tour available only for arrivals before 5 pm for an additional $25 fee.
  4. Please arrange your flight to depart from Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD) after 7:00 pm (domestic) or 8:30 pm (international).

Price for Double/Triple/Quadruple Occupancy applies when two/three/four people stay in one standard hotel room respectively. Thus, result in a lower per person price.

Maximum 4 guests in each hotel room (incl. kid and infant). Each standard hotel room comes with TWO full sizes or ONE queen size bed. Triple/Quadruple price does not guarantee a third/fourth bed in the room since each room is equipped with 2 beds. Roll-a-ways beds are regulations of each hotel; you are responsible for paying the additional cost for roll-a-way bed. Please check the availability at the time of check-in.

Trip Reservation Process:

All tours are open for early booking. It is recommended that customers should book tour at least two weeks before departure date. Bus seats will be pre-assigned after payment is made based on a first come first served basis. The following flowchart summarized the booking process.




  1. After you submitting your reservation online, you will receive a Pre-Order email within a couple of hours.
  2. Within 2 business days, we will send you a confirmation email to confirm your reservation of the trip. In this email, you could find the detailed boarding time and location of the trip, contact information of local service provider. Please print out this email with E-TICKET number as the boarding pass for the trip. Also, you can login to our website http://www.tripedition.com/index.php?route=account/login to check the status of your order.
  3. At the departure date, simply print out the E-TICKET if you have not already done so, and present it with your valid photo ID. Please note that this E-TICKET is the only proof of your purchase of the tour.
  4. Please make sure you have received our Final Confirmation Letter email with your E-ticket number before booking air tickets, extended hotel stays and etc., if applicable.



Your reservation is always subject to confirmation by email normally within two business days. Promotional offers such as BUY 2 GET 1 FREE is provided and confirmed only on an availability basis. In the rare events (such as booking ONE day prior to the departure day), your reservation can not be confirmed by the service provider, a full refund will be credited back to your account.

The order of day-to-day itinerary is adjustable depending on tour start date of the week. For the detailed arrangement, please email or call the local service provider prior to departure date to re-confirm. Their contact info will be listed in your final confirmation email.

We reserve the right to change the hotel to another of equal or better standard than the hotel mentioned in the itineraries.

Depending on the number of passengers booked for a particular departure, tours may be combined to ensure fewer passengers operation.

We do not recommend infants younger than 2 years of age to join the tours, since our tour guides are not specially trained to provide service to these types of passengers and cannot be responsible for their well being.



Boarding Tips and Travel Documents:

If your flight is delayed or cancelled, please call the tour guide or our customer service at 1-888-503-6377 ASAP to reschedule the pickup. Please note, if your arrives after the free pickup time due to delayed flight, there will be a fee charged for the picking up.

All passengers must show E-TICKET (the boarding pass) for boarding.

Passengers are held solely responsible for their own valid travel documents.



Travel Insurance:

We are not responsible for any occur on or during the tour. It is optional that passengers to purchase travel insurance. By accepting our policy, passenger should agree that we shall hold no responsibilities includes but not limited to the following unforeseeable events such as weather, accident, bus break down, sickness, theft, itinerary changes, delays or cancellation. We are strongly advising you to purchase travel insurance before departure to insure compensations for the unexpected causes above. Such travel insurance can be purchased through third party insurance suppliers.




All tours are escorted by professional bi- or multi-lingual tour guides and/or drivers guide. For driver guided tour, the language will be limited to English/Chinese.




Frequently Asked Questions

Will the bus wait for me if I’m late?

Sorry. Tour buses will depart on time. Please be understandable this is a group tour, we have to satisfy the entire group for a smooth operation of the tour. We recommend you arrive at the departure location 15-30 minutes prior the depart time.

Is the drop-off location the same as boarding location for all Tripedition tours?

The tours usually pick-up and drop-off at the same locations unless otherwise stated in the tour Departure and Return Info page.

What happens if I forgot to bring proper travel documents on the boarding day (Passport, Green card, Visa, etc.)?

You can NOT board the bus. The tour guide shall check anyone's proper travel documents prior boarding. Bear in mind, when you can NOT board for this reason, this also triggers the reschedule fee or cancellation penalty. Please refer to the Special Notes section of your booked tour for proper travel documents.

How many pieces of baggage am I allowed to bring?

We recommend two pieces of standard sized baggage per passenger due to the load limitation of the motorcoach. If the tour is operated by 14 seats minibus, only ONE piece per passenger is allowed.

Is there a restroom on the bus?

Yes, only for motorcoach buses. However, we recommend the use of lavatory when there is a personal emergency. All our local service providers, try to maintain a clean environment on the bus, therefore, the bus will make rest stops along the way (every 2-3 hours) at highway service area. If you need to use the lavatory on the way, you may ask the tour guide to open it for your use.

What can we do if we choose not to go on the optional activities?

Optional activities are booked through the tour guide while you are on the tour. If you do not wish to participate in certain tour activities, you can hang around the tourist attraction as you like to. The tour guide will inform guests on the return time to the tour bus before he/she dismisses the group.

We are vegetarians, should I join the tour?

Definitely Yes. Meal breaks will be arranged at hotels, various ethnic restaurants, food courts, and fast food restaurants. There should be vegetarian food for you to choose from the menus.
